I salvaged these spruce branches from my wood pile. I had a few well cured spruce limbs bucked up in my firewood pile and noticed how beautiful the grain is in them. They are noticeably different from the trunks being much denser with tighter growth rings. They are also the right size for a coaster so we sliced some up, sanded them a touch, burned my name onto them and treated them with a good old fashioned mineral oil to seal them. They are basic and beautiful, maybe a little rough around the edges. Just like a good homesteader should be.
The grain pattern and burning subtleties are unique to each one, not to mention the overall shape varies some too. Many of my fans have been asking for something unique but inexpensive that you could add to your daily life. Here's just that.
